Celebrities - Aaron Mentkowski

Aaron joined the WKBW Eyewitness News team as a meteorologist in March, 2000. He is the first - and only - broadcast meteorologist in Buffalo, and the 35th in the country, to earn a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society. The CBM designation is a mark of distinction and recognition.  He provides the forecast Monday through Friday at 5, 6 and 11pm. 

Aaron is owner and president of Weather In Detail, LLC.  A forensic meteorology company that provides in depth analysis on meteorological weather events for numerous law firms across the New York State.  Several times he has served as an expert witness in court cases in which the weather was in question.  For a copy of his CV email: aaron@weatherindetail.com 

Aaron Mentkowski is a member of the National Council of Industrial Meteorologists with 18 years of meteorological experience that includes television and radio, meteorological and climatological consulting and analysis, forensic meteorology, court testimony as an expert witness, developing and instructing college courses, and reviewing collegiate meteorological textbooks.  

In his spare time Aaron enjoys playing and coaching soccer and ice hockey, and is a First Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. Aaron and his wife Sharon are the proud parents of three young boys.
