About Suneel's Celebrity Gala

Suneel's Light Research FoundationSuneel's Celebrity Gala is a dinner and dance gala to benefit Suneel's Light Foundation -- a non-profit charitable organization established to fund critical research for treatments and a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a terminal disease which targets young boys. Currently there are more than 20,000 children in the United States suffering from this devastating disease, and more than 100,000 worldwide, with a statistically higher number of cases in Western New York than the national average.

Suneel's Celebrity Gala will give Western New Yorkers an opportunity to attend an elegant ballroom dance gala, support their local celebrities as they learn how to ballroom dance, and most importantly raise awareness and funds for finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

The inspiration behind Suneel's Celebrity Gala comes from one of our Board Members, David B. Smith, who has been a ballroom dancer for over 5 years. He blended his dedication to Suneel's Light and his passion for dance to create a fun, new, elegant and (we hope) wildly successful fundraising event for the foundation. His ballroom dance instructor, Lihann Jones has been a valuable addition to the cause.

The Board of Directors for Suneel's Light Foundation consists of professionals from our community who donate enormous amounts of time and energy into raising awareness and funds for finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. All money raised goes directly towards scientists working on the front lines of research to discover a cure. With further funding, and your help, we can see a cure within our lifetimes.
